The author did a great job informing the readers of the history behind the Washington Monument. Information regarding various types of funding and the problems that arrived during its construction allows the reader to be well informed on this national monument. Large black and white illustrations give the reader a visual representation of some of the events and artifacts that relate to a monument built to honor the first president of the United States.
